Please bear with me as this may sound a little confusing.
There will be two apps - App Builder and App Browser.
In the App Builder, users (the "App owners") can build their app similar how Wix does. An ID is also needed for other users to access the app. The app can also be tagged (eg 'insurance') for easy search.
The app owners can trigger their own external API for loading/populating of data and when users submit a form/does an action in their app.
When it's done, the structure will be parsed into a JSON and saved into the server.
In the App Browser,
Users can search for apps to access with their ID. The JSON structure will be downloaded and populate the app widgets; it will function like a normal app.
Users can search for apps with their tags.
Users can also bookmark apps for easy access on the App Browser homepage.
Why this idea?
I find that the current web is overly-controlled by algorithms such as SEO. Some of the websites are buried deep beneath the search results, so I want to have a browser that gives everyone an equal chance.
As no-code technology is getting more popular, I want users to be able to create an app without much hassle with drag-and-drop (or other methods).
This is more targeted to people with portfolio sites and small businesses who need more exposures.
Why app over website? App allows the app-owners to get user's location data (with user's permission) and fully utilise the other device-level capabilities. Users will also be able to explore nearby businesses (If the app-owners share their locations)
It will be easier for app-owners to manage subscriptions, orders and stuff. App Owners do not have to build login/register pages anymore. For businesses that already have their user database, they probably can send an auth token to bind the user's account with the account on their database.
App owners are also able to send push notifications to alert users on any updates. This will be useful as some people may miss out emails.
Monetization?
Probably based on the type of app widgets used by the app owner.
Thanks for reading.
Sorry for the long post and any grammatical errors. What do y'all think about this?
Nice, I wonder why the app builder won't build apps which can be standalone websites, as well as indexed through the app browser app that you create. Something that will provide the best of both worlds.
