An Idea for a Competition on Fifty πŸ’‘

Hey,

I recently launched Fifty, a way to discover indie hacker projects in 50 characters or less. Projects are ranked by upvotes (more upvotes, mean more exposure), and to keep things fair to new and old projects - all upvotes are cleared at the start of the week.

Now that you know this, I would like to ask for some feedback on a new idea I had.

The idea: Every week, founders with projects listed on Fifty, can pay $5 (or more) to join a competition on Fifty. The competition is simple - the project with the most upvotes by the end of the week wins. As a prize, the winner (or top three) would get a % of all the $5's, and I would take whats left over.

If you don't pay, your project is still on Fifty - you just can't win the prize money.

I would love to hear what you think of this idea. Please comment with any feedback or suggestions you have.

Cheers,
