An indie hacker sold his startup for $80m within 6 months

Yes. This is real. There's an indie hacker you haven't heard of called Maor Shlomo that just sold his company for $80m. The acquirer, Wix, is a public company.

Here's their announcement article if you don't believe it:

Base44 is only a few months old. It's a Lovable/Bolt alternative that was going. viral in certain circles. He grew it to 250k users and in May 2025 had $189,000 profit.
So assuming $400k MRR or $5m ARR, he sold his company for a 16x multiple. Or if he was at $3m ARR that's a 27x multiple.

You're probably thinking that's a high multiple, but based on how quickly it was growing it could be at $20m+ ARR fast. Especially with Wix as the new owner and its existing 8m strong user base.

I've been following the story from the beginning and it's crazy how a solo founder managed to grow the business so quickly. He brought on 5 extra people, but his product was already super successful when it was just him working on it.
