I personally like the dark theme and colors, but wouldn't say I have an eye for design. Any feedback is much appreicated!
I'm not a designer myself, but my eyes hurt a little. Maybe you could soften the contrast between white and black by using off-white and grey? As a non-designer, I used Bootswatch and then later off-the-shelf themes. In either case you could steal the CSS color palette for free and use a set of colors that have gotten a pass from a designer.
