Analytics in tools for newsletters

So I was looking at the most popular newsletter tools to see what they were offering in terms of analytics.
Are you using them (apart from the obvious open, click, bounce and unsubscribe rate)?
I'm thinking about the click maps, real-time analytics, opens by location etc.

Do you find them useful or are they not actually worth it?

We built our own analytics dashboard for VimTricks in Metabase because Substack's analytics offerings are terrible. Metabase allows us to have graphs and charts and do all kinds of deep dives. The data underlying is a combination of data scraped from Substack and data we collect from voting links that we attach to each email we send out. Ultimately we're planning to collect more data, both quantitive and qualitative, and feed that all back in our Metabase dashboard.

Hey @cbartlett just listened to your episode on the Newsletter Crew podcast. It actually inspired me to put analytics back onto my site and newsletter. Thanks for the tips! I found that episode to be super valuable.

Litmus analytics is great, gives more detail than you'd get from a regular ESP report.
