📱 Android & IOS apps with a monthly subscription fee as a monetization strategy 💸

What Android or IOS apps do you use that have a monthly subscription fee? Personally, I have used and still using many web-based or web first apps that are monetized like this but at this moment I don't use any mobile-exclusive app with this monetization strategy If we exclude streaming services and cloud storage. I am curious if there is an aversion from mobile apps and monthly/yearly subscription plans as a type of monetization. Does anyone have an app that are monetized this way?

Used to do iOS development and one of my clients (who I still do updates for) decided to pivot to subscriptions.

It is a meditation app and previously we sold single exercises or all exercises as a bundle.

Revenue has stayed roughly the same though, no big increase but definitely not a decrease. Previously some months would have less sales than others but revenue is now more predictable since you can predict based on previous months.

I don't think it would be a good idea for every app though. In this case people use the app every day and continuously get value for their money since new exercises are added monthly. If your app is something people use every now and then, customers might not be a fan of subscriptions.

Thanks for the reply. I totally agree that it would not be the silver bullet solution for every app I was wondering is it a reasonable option of monetization on mobile I was thinking that in-app purchases or buying an app are a more common way to monetize. Good to hear that there are live products that are monetizing on a subscription base

These apps are free for users to download and users can pay for additional digital features and content in the app with Apple's In-App Purchase system. Developers earn 70% of sales from in-app purchases and Apple collects a 30% commission. i've tried it for shareit and vidmate app https://get-shareit.com

Cool, so single buy in-app purchases are worked for you. I might explore it as an option too. Thanks for the response

Monetizing an app is essentially any way in which an app is used to make money. With app monetization, you have a chance to leverage your user base in such a way that you can earn money – it's as simple as that. For app developers in particular, this is an incredibly important way of generating revenue without funding. https://jiofilocalhtml.run https://forpc.onl https://jfi.cam/jiofilocalhtml/
