Annoyed after my Chrome extension got rejected

For the past two months, I've been working on a browser extension for my marketing tool https://moonkit.io

Without the extension, the tool is useless. So I got a bit upset when Google rejected the extension with a general statement like "it looks suspicious". đŸ„ș

I went on a short blaming trip: How horrible it is to be at a mercy of a big corporation, to be held hostage indefinitely, to be at risk of being shut down any time by a third party,... (Well those risks still apply and it got me thinking about a future direction for my project, so thanks, Google! 🖖)

But then I remembered something I've learned just recently after many years of failure: To trash my hurt-driven activism and simply accept the situation as it is, adapt and overcome.

I understand Google needs to filter out malicious extensions. Mine was new and it needed wide permissions. Suspicious. So I went through the code, removed anything absolutely non-essential, reworked some concepts to lower the permission requirements and added more screenshots and explanations.

Then I finally got approved and I plan on adding features gradually.

If you are up to it, I'd be glad if you could test out my beta: https://moonkit.io 🩀

CWS acceptance policies have been very up and down recently due to a bunch of factors, tho the biggest one is rampant fraud and abuse. The reviewers they are currently using are both very strict and only provide canned responses that do not cover any of the actual rejection issues. Their forum is a great place to understand whats happening tho and get an actual person to respond: https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/forum/#!forum/chromium-extensions
