Any devs want to work with me on developing a webapp for these trying times?

Hey all,

I'm playing around with the idea of developing a web app for my local community that will help strengthen the individuals within the community and the community as a whole.

Not looking to make any money on it other than developer donations from the community. I'll even foot the AWS bill.

The features would include:

  • A barter system
  • Fun Run Announcement - user can say, I’m going to “blah” on “Date” and can pick up stuff for people
  • List houses that have sick people or people who need care
  • Matching system for people who want to help someone around them
  • trusted circle…. for when someone leaves town, setup schedule to watch house, feed pets, pick up packages, water plants, etc.
  • scheduling system that helps users keep track of:
    - trusted circle
    - Helping those in need

I'm a fullstack dev that can work in pretty much any major web framework. Although, since I'd like to get it out the door ASAP to help those in need, I'm planning on working in the tech stack that I'm fastest with:

  • AWS - EC2, RDS (MySQL) & S3 serverless
  • Adonis.js (Node server framework based on PHP laravel)
  • React

But I'm open to other stacks. If you're interested, please let me know. Seeing as this pandemic is hitting the entire world pretty hard, I'm open to this being an international open source project.

Hey Alex, I'd be interested in helping out with this project! Do you have anything going yet or do you still need help planning?
