Any examples of great City Portal sites?

I'm looking for examples of "hub" sites for small tourist towns (<100k population) that are really useful to the public – the kind with local events, activities and features local businesses. Every site I've seen is clunky or is mainly for vacation rentals.

Or if you've worked on such a thing, I'd love to connect and hear what works and what doesn't!
