Any ideas for growing Glimm? (A reader mode for chrome)

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/giggle-extension/flkjckjohpmiceconfnnhpechapkaoob

We got fantastic initial feedback. Any ideas for how to scale it?

Thanks in advance!

I built a chrome extension about a year or two ago that is sitting around 5k active users now and I can tell you from my experience that the preview images make or break the extension as far as installs go. Many users will only look at the images and move on, so if they don't accurately show what it's all about, they often won't install or give it a second look. Second to the preview images is the title, it should be as descriptive as possible. Finally, I don't think many users read the description, but it's still import to be descriptive there as I believe it helps you being found through search.

So with that being said, the feedback I can give on those 3 sections is:

    • Images: I had a bit of a difficult time figuring out what the extension actually did at first (still not 100% positive though), so I would recommend trying to show more of that off in the preview images and potentially removing the testimonials to get more room
    • Title: the title isn't very descriptive at all, I would try something like "Giggle - Quickly Preview Articles on Google" or some variant as it will help provide more context to viewers.
    • Description: I would add a paragraph or two of detail here. Although I don't believe they're commonly read, more keywords will help you show up in searches plus it may help convert a couple users who are on the fence about installing it after looking at just the images.

    Hope that helps a bit!

Looks much better! I think the images paint a clearer picture and the description provides a lot more context now. Only other thing I could suggest is adding a tagline within the title itself, like "Giggle - Search like a pro" or something like that. Might as well take advantage of that if you can.
