Hi IndieHackers!
I currently live in Africa, Namibia and the Indiehacker / startup seen here is literary non existent and it is extremely hard to find people who can guide and help me build a product.
I have been an active member of this site for a while now and I absolutely love the amount of knowledge we have on this site. Which is why I am compelled to reach out.
I am in need of mentor - whether short term or long term who can mentor me, guide and keep me accountable in the process of building a product.
absolutely NO FINANCIAL RESOURCES will be requested at any point during our mentoring period.
Drop a comment below if you are interested and we can discuss ? or if you have any information regarding finding mentors etc.
I think you'd be better off making the start and then ask for help. Plenty of resources available these days.
Okay I see, so you saying it's better to ask for help on specific issue instead of just help with the overall process ?
I disagree with the other comments here. Having a mentor with experience to guide you can really accelerate you and help you avoid nasty traps.
Ofc you still need to work hard af, but with a great mentor you will work smarter.
Exactly my thinking. I'm not expecting the mentor to do any work, it's more just as a guide on how ? what ? where type issues.
First of all, good luck and I wish you big success. I just want to say, that you don't need a mentor. In fact you don't want one. You need to take responsibility for your own success.
Honestly there is no road to success and so there is no map. You make decisions and you make your own way. When you look back you will see a road that you followed, but its just your footsteps. There is never a road in front of you.
So I advise you to become comfortable with not knowing what to do, and just making the best decisions about how to proceed. After a while its fun.
Thank you for the insightful comment.
What specific challenge are you having?
not a specific challenge per say more just general guidance like how do you evaluate which idea to pursue ? how do you reach out to customers to gauge whether they need your product or not etc.
