Any minimal cost marketing tips for those who don't have a network?

Wow, there are so many things. I'm actually doing research about this very topic (see my link bio). But to answer your question...
What are places where people (or a segment of people) who may be interested in your product hang out?
a) Go into Facebook and search for Facebook groups related to the topic your product is about
b) Go into Twitter and use their search bar, search for phrases your audience may type (eg: If I had a new clothes brand, I would type phrases like "any good jeans" etc. to find questions)
c) Who are your competitors? Enter their sites into SimilarWeb/Alexa and find which similar sites your audience visits. Does any of those sites have a forum/community?

As for Facebook and Twitter, those sound like good options to check out. I have not thought about looking up similar websites on SimilarWeb/Alexa though, so that's something I'll definitely have to do. :)
Product Hunt, Hacker News, Twitter, Indie Hackers, and Forums that are specific to your niche!
When I started building One Word Domains, I had zero marketing spend, so all I could do was basically share my product on the channels above and get organic traffic through that. This actually turned out to be super valuable as I was able to get over 30K people visit my site in under 2 months.
Re: Forums specific to your niche - I used Namepros & Reddit as my target users are from these two places, but feel free to choose other Forums as well!
Those are great tips! I've always thought of Reddit as a collection of random forums, but it seems like there can be much value in it as well.
Certainly - if you target the right subreddits that cater to your niche, you'll be able to reach your target audience as they will most likely be the ones who hang around those subreddits!
