I am trying to make a post, but it says : "Sorry, you're not allowed to post this". Anyone has any idea why? The message is not very helpful.
I too would like to be able to post and contribute. Let me know if there is any more information or insights!
Are requirements documented somewhere?
Hello Folks,
It is like earning karma from Reddit. Just kidding! I am new to Indiehacker, I saw response of lot of people saying that we need to contribute , upvote. Moderator will look our pattern of contribution. Then, we will be able to post. I don't know how much time is required to get noticed by moderator. How many posts, upvotes require - totally don't know. This is a great way to stop spammy content i guess.
Did you ever get the ability to post?
I think this is where you have to be a longerterm member to post?
Yeah, you should actively contribute to the community before you write any posts. This is the safety mechanism of IndieHackers for preventing low-effort posts.
Any links supporting this?
Are there any criterias to be considered as someone trustworthy?
I'm not sure about the exact criteria they use to evaluate people; probably, they're not open to the public. However, these criteria are meant to assess a person's value he/she contributes to the community.
I would be interested to find where the guidelines are too. e.g. How many posts and what is the waiting period?
Thanks.
Yes, I have also learned that you must be a member that has been contributing for a while in order to receive access to post. "Every day, moderators look for people with a pattern of contributing authentically."
Are requirements documented somewhere?
Dang it, same thing here. Guess we just have to stay actively involved in the community, and eventually it'll work I guess...
Yeah it would be nice for a more concrete list of requirements than the current arbitrary requirements. Really hopping to post soon, but hard to stay vigilant when there is no visible goal.
I found this post useful! Haha. I'll get engaged and circle back to make a post when I'm "tenured"
Did you ever find more information or how long it took?
I think it's because I registered as a new account so I don't have post access yet, which I understand, but "Every day, moderators look for people with a pattern of contributing authentically." seem a little vague here.
DO I have to be a paid subscriber so that I can share my deep dives?
How much time do we have to wait before posting?
I'm also very interested in posting on Indie Hackers. I sold 1 projects and now develop 5 projects as a solo entrepreneur.
I read before that you should be involved in community and comment other posts. But today I couldn't find this information.
I think you have to be a long term member here before you get access to make post or submit your product.
If you start today and contribute to the community in a meaningful way, you will get access soon.
I'm having the same issue - can't seem to post :(
hey some one from the indiehacker community, can you please help me creating the post ?
I have read the previous answers but can you just share me the guidelines for being new user ?
I have that problem right now. I tried to publish a post on how we launched our product, but all I got is "Sorry, you can't post this". Any solutions? @indiehackers
I'm getting the same error just now. Anyone else having this issue?
Try again in a few days. That worked for me.
Hey @IndieHackerACA, it sounds rather strange to me. I had an issue posting before, but only because my post was too short.
What did you post? In what category?
Seems like I can post now. Thank you for trying to help.
Great. I have no idea what was the problem!
I tried posting on Ideas and Validation. I don't believe my post didn't have enough content. (it had around 5 paragraphs of text, each with around 4-5 lines)
