Any software contractors or freelancers looking for work?

I'm a founder, returning to the grind after 3 failed startups and recently becoming a dad.

I've been contracting part-time as a software engineer for a startup, and now looking to expand to help some other startups by spending a few more days contracting. I work remotely (and did so even before the pandemic), and mostly get to choose the day sI work. It's a model that allows a lot of flexibility for me, and the startups I work with are happy to have some help, even though they do wish they could get more time.

I am looking to see if I can replicate this model of flexible remote work as a software contractor for other software engineers. I am specifically looking for software engineers that are not working as full-time employees (as most employment contracts stipulate a level of exclusivity). The idea is to allow companies to have contractors in a pool of pre-approved talent they can go to when there is work. Landing page (it is just a landing page at the moment) is here: https://development.kitchen .

This is completely new and I don't have the network to guarantee any work at the moment. But if you are already a contractor or a freelancer looking for contract work, please reach out to me! If you happen to know anyone that is a contractor or freelancer that is looking for work, I'd appreciate being connected.

I am looking for folks located anywhere at this point but I will be starting one location at a time (there are a lot of compliance issues with contracting) based on interest.

    Hi

    Greetings!

Over the last couple of years I've built few solutions, Currently I want to highlight this real-time Dashboard framework. This framework can be used on Applications running on Oracle Database or Oracle Apps/EBS/Custom module.

My Intent for creating such "Productivity" Solutions is to enable Consultants in IT Services org working for customers using Oracle database / Oracle EBS(ERP) customers.

Since they work closely with Business Users to get their day-to-day needs done, I believe this solution will help them quickly achieve their reporting / data insights/ dashboard needs in shortest possible time and keeping both time & cost within their budget.

Please have a look at this Simple Real-time Dashboard framework solution built on msexcel & works with any Application (Ebusiness, Custom app) built on Oracle Database.

Here is the link for solution demo,

    Hey Ravi,

    This looks interesting.

I'm in a similar situation as you are (working part-time for a startup).

I'll have some more bandwidth soon so can you add me to your pool?

    My email is: [email protected]

Awesome. 👏 I've been working my own non-exclusive freelance dev hours for multiple clients, for enough years that I'm embarrassed to say the exact number!

Yeah, I think it's great - the flexibility, the variety of challenges, I think a lot of people would love it if was more accessible. Finding your next client and next contract can be a challenge. The existing freelancing platforms don't help as it feels like a competitive race to the bottom on price. It's definitely based on if I'm able to get a model of pre-approved pools working but if it does, it can help with finding work. And I think it can help with recruitment in software in general.
