Any solo makers interested in meeting online once a week?

#ask-ih

I have setup a 3 hour working session happening every Saturday.

Planned agenda:

  • Introductions (first meeting)
  • 1 minute to share what you are looking to accomplish today
  • 5 minnutes feedback/discussion
  • Open time to work and collaborate
  • 1 minute to share what you accomplished
  • 5 minutes feedback/discussion

For those who want to join here is a link limited to 10 spots

Feedback on the agenda or time is appreciated. I chose Sat since it gives those who are working side projects a chance to join.

I'd like to build something into IH help connect you to 4-5 founders on a regular basis and put you into the same Zoom call. Would you use this? If so, what would you like to see from it?

    1. 3

Heck freaking yes! That would be the coolest thing ever!

    2. 2

      I would definitely be interested!

It would be awesome if there was something where you could set up virtual meetups at a certain time and potentially keep a consistent group together. Smaller groups would be ideal, and (this may be getting into the weeds) it may even be nice to allow makers with similar or complimentary skillsets to chat.

For example, my weakness is in marketing, so being able to chat about what I'm working on with some people with more marketing chops than I would be great. On the flipside, I could probably lend some advice in the dev & design categories if others need that type of help.

Tie that in with a weekly "standup" style meeting, and you've got yourself a solid group to hold you accountable, help out when needed, and keep you motivated if that's what you're looking for :)

Anthony created Worldwide we had the second zoom call today, split in smaller rooms

@ajobforme you can sign up for info w/ our mailing list.

We're also making a Discord chat group or similar soon that you can join in on.

Details for both upcoming events and the chat group will be shared via email as well as in the fb group.

Good for you! any other way we can chat?

    4. 1

That would be very cool and yes I would use it.

I prefer to use google meet as I do not need to install any software and auto generates the meet link in my calendar.
But zoom has some nice features :)

You can check out RemoteStandups - https://remotestandups.com/
I think it was built by a fellow IHer, not sure what the status of it is now though as it was launched a couple months ago

Just signed up and about to try it - however I am looking for once a week not daily. Looks pretty cool for actual standups :)

I'd be interested. But I'm still a rookie Indie Hacker so I'm not sure how much value I would be able to add.

Too many experts can skew viewpoints :)
I think not being shy and participating is a great way to provide value.

I could be interested. Super busy lately, but a nice short focus session for updates and chin wagging could be helpful.
