I have a feeling that B2B SaaS is easier to do because business problems are easily quantifiable in comparison to consumer problems. I'd like to validate this assumption and ask some questions from the B2C founders on how they went about it or do some research. Thanks!
The only one I know is doing quite well is Readwise but there is probably more :)
I'm in the B2C space with thankbox.com so happy to help if you have any questions.
Hey Val,
I appreciate your response!
I'm curious to hear about your story validating the idea behind thank box? and also what was your customer acquisition strategy post-launch? Specific details would be really helpful! 🙏
If you've written about it elsewhere even better:)
Well I was both interviewed in written form on IH here and recently on the podcast if you want to have a look or listen.
But I can do a quick summary to answer your questions.
I didn't do too much up-front validation. Mainly because I was confident there would be a need for an online group card service when COVID hit. I decided to quickly do a MVP (in 2 months) and then see if it'd get any traction.
When I launched I pushed it quite a bit in my network and tech ecosystem I was in and I was people picking it up and using it. So I was lucky to get product-market fit quickly. The rest was just trying to figure out what traction channel worked best. It eventually turned out to be search Ads and SEO, which I've been focusing on since.
Thanks for the summary val. I read through the IH post as well. It was very comprehensive. Did you manage to take Thankbox full time this year?
I should be on track to do it later this year, yeah.
Look forward to hearing an update on it 🙂
