The best way to get points (and general kudos) is to post interesting posts (experiences, questions, advice) or to jump in and help people in the comments.
The most popular groups are probably Growth and Landing Page Feedback, I think people always need help in those areas. But really, the groups you should participate in is really down to your own background and where you feel you can be helpful.
