Anybody had success monetizing a social media site?

I recently launched a social media site for people living abroad and have accumulated around ~200 email verified users in a short amount of time.

Just to plan for the future, I was thinking about how I could sustain myself through this project.

Has anyone gone through a similar journey in the social media/community space?
