Report
I am currently doing research on the best landing page builders in 2020. Also want to know the criteria that you would use to shortlist them.
I don't think these kind of products will (or should) ever disappear. I'm biased though cos we're building one too with everypage. As a dev I would always buy templates and change the styles and text to suit, but only when I started working on side projects with non-tech people did I realise how annoying it is to have the landing page, which is a marketing tool at its core, controlled by developers. Text changes and the like should be easy to make by non-tech people, even adding and removing sections and content should be easy.
So I think that's the main criteria for me now - how easy is it to change the page. If you want to try out new messaging for a day is it easy (a few clicks and some writing) or is it hard (phone your dev and ask them)?
Hi Veena, that's a great research topic. Always intriguing and evolving in new directions.
I am both a digital marketing advisor as well as long-time digital tools reviewer for online communication professionals.
The criteria I'd consider use to shortlist the best landing page builders out there are these:
Quality and variety of templates and content blocks available
Ease of use, UI, simplicity
Option to export HTML
Free publishing on landing page builder subdomain
Easy way to move around sections and change their order
Integrated icon and symbols library
Visual feedback and commenting mode
Team collaboration
Custom blocks
Number of landing pages allowed
Cost
My favorite ones are:

Have you heard of Google AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) ?
Have you ever wanted to edit the HTML, instead of having to export code?
Not really.
