Anyone else joining Startup School in July?

YCombinator is doing Startup School for free again this year. Some of the courses don't really apply to bootstrapped companies, but I think a lot do. Personally, I'm doing it for my app AvoToast for extra accountability and to learn more. It also looks like the $15k grant you can

Just joined. People have been installing Link Reminder but none have been paying. Been making refinements based on usage data but still $0 revenue.

Would love to gain more exposure and learn how to convert, not because I want to charge money, but to get solid validation on the product.

The 15k grant does require that you have potential to be a 10-100B company

They may have changed that this year. The FAQ says you need to be a promising company, judged equally on 5 criteria, and only one is a reasonable path to be a billion-dollar company.

I just signed up. I am getting some decent traction with TuringTribe.com and hopefully being part of startup school can help push the growth further...

Woah, I can see why you're getting traction...that looks pretty awesome! Good luck and I'll see you in there :)

I'm doing it. Hopefully it'll include some marketing tips (where I am weak), and plus I mentor a large number of startups here in Copenhagen, and I suspect some of the learnings will trickle down.

If you’re in a hurry, every years lectures are on YouTube. You could search by topic

Appreciate that! I'm starting a part-time masters in September, so a little nervous about taking it tbh.

I did it the first year. Definitely recommend it for those who want to go vc route. If you don’t want to go that route they recommend paths that arent’t necessarily for you like Delaware C corp setup. But they get you to think and hold you accountable with weekly progress reports. Plus its more of a feeder for their main program so bear that in mind. Happy to answer any other questions :)

Awesome, thank you! I'll keep that all in mind. I'm not dead set against taking VC, but I'd prefer to bootstrap. We'll see!
