This week, I'm switching my newsletter to Beehiiv.
What's the impetus? I was sort of cajoled into doing it when i made a linkedin post about how often I see people talking to them, and a bunch of their evangelists and employees hopped on the post.
It felt like "whoa! Are these people all gonna subscribe if I switch?"
And no, so far they didn't. So I feel slightly duped by that.
But I do really like the platform, and I think being a monthly flat fee after 2500 subs is fine. Right now I'm under 50 subs, so it's something that would be a good problem to have LOL.
That post also led to me finding out about RevGenius, which is a really cool slack community that I just joined, so maybe it's all for the best.
Just wondering if anyone here has also switch to or from Beehiiv? Specifically if you have switched to or from substack, and why you made the switch.
I think I'm switching...
But the deliverability compared to ConvertKit, sucks a little.
Well, I guess, it depends on the content anyway.
For some reason, I see convert kit as “email marketing” and Substack/beehiiv as “newsletters”.
The distinction is nearly meaningless, and I think convention has everything the other two do.
Is there a free version?
Part of why I like Substack is it’s just open-ended my free for someone who doesn’t have paid subscribers.
With beehiiv, it feels like the money is aspirational, like a gym membership, the flat fee will motivate me to make it worth it, though I may stay on the free plan until I max out the subscriber limit.
May look into convertkit’s pricing, for my curiosity, and to feature in my newsletter 👉🧠
