Anyone hacking around maritime world ?

I'm a senior engineer working for a big contractor in offshore oil &gas sector. I've a rather unique blend of skills between ocean science (my main job) and software engineering. I'm seeking buisness ideas where I could make use of my skills. Is anyone graviting in that space or having created a business solving problems for the ocean / maritime / yachting world?
My dude, since I don't know much about what your field even entails, I think the best guy to ask would be yourself. Look around and find pain points or inefficiencies. Experiment! You will eventually figure it out :)
