Anyone had success in podcast outreach?

I am currently doing podcast outreach for a client who has super credentials (Came as a child immigrant to the US, built himself from scratch, then worked in Silicon Valley, runs his own multifamily syndication, raised $1M in self-financing for his SaaS startup, etc.). Press release about him: https://www.realestaterama.com/real-estate-syndication-software-cash-flow-portal-raises-1-million-in-self-financing-ID052218.html
Outreaching 12 real-estate podcasts in his niche resulted in 2 responses that are still in the process of reviewing the application.
I am surprised not to see any enthusiasm from podcasts to host this guest as he could add a lot of value to their listeners. Any ideas or secrets you could share when it comes to podcasts outreach?

    Hey Alexandra,

Firstly, I would consider 2/12 extremely successful.

But regardless, what are you writing in your outreach email? My experience is that very personal outreaches that respond to some specific content from the people you are trying to reach are doing better than the more "businessy" ones that float an individual's profile as if it were a product.

You may also find that these emails are more successful if they actually come from your proposed guest, rather than your business. Maybe you could set up a shared email address with your person's name in it?

Hope this helps, and best of luck.

      Hi tessl,

Thank you for the recommendations! I am writing a very personal email to those podcasts. I have an email address on the client's domain and I am also part of his team on the website. Not sure if sending it from an email on his name would actually help. Will try.

I think that for most Podcasters, the determining factor for whether or not to have somebody on the podcast has more to do with 'reach' than it does to do with 'story'.

This is for 'most' of the podcasts that are out there however. The ones that are smaller and are trying to grow (like mine: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHCAKVdk-1rxE03lULQ0FMA). Not for the bigger ones. For whom, reach is not really the main problem anymore.

Maybe you could add in some ways to demonstrate potential reach that the guest could provide in your outreach? That might perk up a few more ears than you might currently be getting.

    Hope this helps!

"The determining factor for whether or not to have somebody on the podcast has more to do with 'reach' than it does to do with 'story'." this is very concerning because people listen to podcasts to learn something new, hear interesting stories. So if podcasters focus purely on reach, they might miss out on some great opportunities.
My guest doesn't have this much reach as he doesn't have a podcast. But maybe we could invite his contacts to listen to podcast (1000+) and tell the podcasters that they will get additional audience.
