Anyone making money from Alexa skill?

I used to work for a company that built Alexa skills and Google Actions for third party customers, like Apothic Wines and Progressive. It's been a year since I worked there, but all the money came from development fees. Usage was so low on those apps, I don't think a single one earned any of the Amazon dev rewards money.

A year ago I heard on a podcast a guy doing 25 k with alexa.

I think he did a voice or something like that.
