Anyone making money from non hyped SaaS/Communities?
I see a lot of ideas in the space of AI, or different tools for social media scheduling, and marketing. Those fields do not interest me.
I was wondering, are there any indiehackers that money for less hyped topics? People who run communities. Tools for developers, or any other esoteric niche?

GetMyMFA generated $ 1K MRR as a side project with little to no effort on the Test Automation and Quality Assurance topics, which I believe is unfortunately too underrated.
There is a huge need to simplify test automation and reduce the complexity of two factor authentication especially when it’s Time-based or SMS-based.
No AI or blockchain needed so far to attract customers.

In my opinion, embrace the latest tech like AI. But do not build something completely depending on it. If that tech changes, your product is no more valid.
Instead, use the tech like AI as an improvement to what you can achieve normally.
You solve another important problem using your product and while solving, use AI to solve it more efficiently. By doing this, if the tech changes tomorrow, your product is still safe as its core is not the tech but your solution.
Most "AI" is nowadays built on ChatGPT... That is a big platform dependency. We don't know how it goes.
I have an AI product, it doesn't go so well. My non-AI product is doing better.

I always was against dependency on third party platform, but then again, no matter where I look - everybody is building products on top of big social media platforms, or AI platforms, or Notion. So :shrug: I guess
I have an app, called neucards, that is in the contact info sharing and privacy space. It was a long time side project of mine that I launched last year as a solo founder. It is sometimes hard to find an audience for something so niche, but I'm pleased with my progress.

I like native apps, and was always fascinated by this industry of native iOS and macOS apps. I always felt though, like there is no viable business model here.
However, I know of people who make a living by developing macOS/iOS apps.

I know a person who makes tons of money by selling e-books on internet marketing, including how to use neural networks from user perspective to increase engagement.
