I'm thinking about making one for small businesses that do local fruit and vegetable boxes.
I think to achieve a shopify store with the functionality needed for that type of business now they need to string a few shopify apps together.
I'm trying to validate this idea by reaching out to a few local businesses.
If anyone has any experiences to share about building a shopify app it might be helpful.
Thanks!
Hey @samic8,
Shopify is a really nice platform from a developer perspective. You can build your app as a standalone system using any tech stack you want, and only communicate with Shopify through their REST or GraphQL API. They promote so called embedded apps, but it's still an iframe placed inside a shop admin panel pointing to a URL that you specify.
Shopify is also a good target market, because merchants are willing to pay for solutions that help them earn more or make their job easier.
The biggest challenge for me was to get listed in the Shopify App Store. My app was rejected a few times before it finally got published, but it was worth the effort. Make sure to get familiar with the list of requirements early https://help.shopify.com/en/api/app-store/listing-in-the-app-store/app-requirements
@LukaszWiktor has pretty nice shopify app
