Anyone up for a small accountability crew?
I've been thinking about getting back into the hustle. The final nudge was the combination of seeing my buddy @Davey in the Daily Standup and the kind shout outs from @rosiesherry and @louisswiss.
But given the current tumult and a new gig, I'm not yet ready to take on daily standups. I'm after something lightweight. Is there a small group of hustlers willing to commit to a weekly check in with updates and words of encouragement between check ins as time allows?

Hey @Janice, not sure if it's what you're looking for but around 30 of us do this for weekendclub.co, with weekly Saturday deep working sessions. 100+ software discounts too.
That sounds nice, but that's a bit too large of a group for me. Also deep saturday working sessions don't work when you have young kids. I'm burning the midnight oil and sleeping as few hours as possible to get some work in.

Hey James, it's on UK time due to the majority of our members being here, but we have members in the USA, Mexico, Switzerland, Greece and Australia too.
They manage to make it work, but I am planning to host sessions on Eastern time in the next 6 months, as we get a bunch of our traffic from the Americas.
Cool! I may try it out in the coming weeks. Nice idea.

I'd be up for something with a small group only. I'm not interested in large groups because I've found you just lost in the shuffle and nobody really cares much in a large group if someone doesn't show, but when the group is kept small everyone wants to reach out to you and check in to see what's going and try to keep you motivated. If its 5 people or fewer count me in, otherwise if it's a big group it feels like a waste of time to me and I'd rather just use that time on indie hackers.

Hi @Janice, I actually run a weekly (free) check-in for entrepreneurs, every Friday, at 1pm GMT+2 for about 45 minutes to an hour. Considering the timezone it's mostly European entrepreneurs, so I'm not sure if that fits?

It's good to hear from ya, @Janice. I haven't been active on IH but lurk sometimes. I agree that weekly (or biweekly) updates work best. I got plenty on my plate.
I feel you. My plate just reached a manageable state. Hoping to hold steady.
Guess this marks my return :P Been super busy with current gig since last Oct, but I'm recently recommitting to building something cool and useful for other devs. Think going forward I'm gonna focus more on value-add than building a self supporting operation. I'll let the fire burn low and slow...until it's ready to be pulled from the grill in mesquite smoked glory.

Yo! Yes, back after a long break with a new project to be IN THE GOOD MIX with the tumult. Hunted hard for something which would grow as the world changes. Also, between gigs and not looking too hard.

I took a break from the IH website because I didn't get as much out of the standups as I'd hoped, and found a local San Diego IH group where I got more of what I was looking for: A core group of people following each other closely and, more importantly, helping each other :)
But I've gotten back into browsing IH for awesome content, and also try to respond to a couple posts/questions with no responses or upvotes a few times a week.
Hope you're doing well, and good to hear from all the others here as well!
