I have never tried growthmentor but can understand the reluctance to pay a 99$ access fee... Would you be more willing to use this type of service if it were just the hourly fee for calls?

So, I have tried the app. I found genuinely helpful mentors who are looking to help you.
I have taken almost 10 sessions from different mentors, every session was helpful.
Moreover, the concept is to help more than "sell your hours" compared to clarity.fm.
They're all vetted by the founder himself.

That's great, So wanna ask that when mentors start charging and when they give free sessions?
Thus it totally depends upon the mentor or is there any TnC for this like being a mentor you need to give x number of a free session.
Why I am asking this question is because I quite curious about this thing where very high professional give their time for free thus I have also tried to reach some professionals but they don't give 2 min also that's why.
I also read some mentor stories on the internet that they have given like 50 sessions or 100 sessions in a month for free.
Hi Ruben - I was not aware of this. I think this is a cool resource. You get access to some of the mentors after you pay $99.
I have used them a few times when there were opportunities for free. I have had session with six. They are worth the money.

Just want to clarify that it's $99 access fee and then $0/hour for 42% of the mentors on the platform.
Out of the 118 mentors currently on the platform, 49 of them are offering their time at no cost, including myself.
The mentors that do charge are offering their time at an average of $50-60/hour.
Our goal from the beginning was to make this super affordable for bootstrapped solo founders that otherwise would never be able to afford to pay triple-digit silicon valley consultancy rates for 3rd party feedback from top-notch growth talent.
Hi @fotipanagio, what is the reason about the 99$ access fee? Wouldn't be better if "just" the calls were paying. That way you would have more people accessing the service - but maybe it's exactly for this reason that you have set up a wall? (to restrict the number of users)?
We added the $99 access fee for qualification purposes and also because since so many mentors were offering their time for free, we had a very difficult time monetising via traditional commission route. So instead of going for funding, we decided to fund GM ourselves by charging a very reasonable $99/yr fee for access which a.) helped us fund product dev and b.) qualifed demand so that mentors had higher quality calls with less tire kickers.
That makes sense! I was pretty sure it was something along those lines.
You could also give access for free but limit mentors to paid one only, and allow the "unlimited" access via the paywall. That's just a thought.
The nice thing here is that you can play with the pricing :)
