Anyone willing to answer a few questions about inbound marketing tools?

Hey all - I’m the founder of Talkative, which so far has sold mostly to founders / product managers. We have a hypothesis that our product (meettalkative.com), could be useful for inbound marketing/sales as well (this is what we actually use it for), but none of us know anything about inbound marketing. Would anybody be willing to connect for 15 minutes to answer some questions for us / give us feedback?

Thanks in advance!

Sure. Why not post all your questions here and we can chip in with insights?

Thanks! Here are some of my questions.

      1. What tools do you use to understand who is on your website / whether they are a qualified lead?
      2. What's the volume of visitors to your website, and how do you convert them into a lead?
      3. Would you be interested in speaking with visitors as soon as they are on your website (i.e., ask them to get on a video chat or call?). Would you want to speak to all visitors or just qualified leads?
      4. If yes, who would be responsible for making these calls?
      5. Do you use conversational marketing tools like Intercom / drift today? If so, are there any gaps / pain points with these solutions?

        1. Mostly analytics, paired with Leadfeeder or Clearbit for additional insights.
        2. Volume depends. Highest B2C site had millions, mostly my B2B sites range from 100 to 10.000 per day. B2B lead generation mostly via forms (contact, support, gated content, etc.)
        3. No, I’d like to qualify them to at least SAL stage (Sales Accepted Lead). The sheer volume of traffic would otherwise halt sales to a standstill.
        4. Sales teams would pick up the conversation based on lead scoring, product interest, company size, etc.
        5. Yes, have used Crisp, Olark, Intercom, Drift and some others as well. Biggest issue is, depending on your niche, you simply are either always offline due to time zones, or you appear to have a chat option. Problem here is, they mostly fail miserably in lead scoring and piping that information to Marketo, Pardot and most other Marketing Automation tools which are supposed to help the sales process. These tools (at least for my niches) are counterproductive and build up a long list of potential, unqualified leads which sales have to follow up manually to even be able to qualify them. Massive waste of time.

Give me something that automagically is able to lead score (i.e. Clearbit) and then pipe that information back to the chat tool. Sales should not know how their lead lists get filled, they should just open up their Salesforce Dashboards, sort by highest Lead Score Leads and start calling.

Thanks - this is really helpful!

I'm especially interested in your comment to "Give me something that automagically is able to lead score (i.e. Clearbit) and then pipe that information back to the chat tool." It sounds like you want the chat tool to be downstream of the marketing automation platform, so that live conversations would only happen with qualified leads?

Hey @memn0nis - Please find my feedback below:

      1. We don't have an objective to know the exact person, but we use Hotjar, Google Tag Manager to get a good segmentation strategy

      2. It depends on how visitors get to know our website, we have a mix of lead capture, freebies to encourage people sign up

      3. We do not have this urgency

      4. N/A

      5. Using Tidio at the moment. We're on HubSpot Pro as well, thinking to move from Tidio to HubSpot's conversational tool

Happy to carry the conversation forward on LinkedIn
