Anyone with experience with web design

I am looking for anyone who is willing to give an insight on how to create a website and whether or not I should custom make the website or use template such as one from places such as WordPress

    Hi

    Great input

    Option A

If you want to build a website that can scale with different functionalities and features then going the non cms route might be an option, but it depends on what you are looking for. If you want to build a store or similar then shopify is a good alternative.

    Option B

If you want to iterate the optics and change details later on outside the drag and drop possibilities from sites like wix, wordpress, webflow and shopify here is a step by step option for a fairly simple way to a custom website

    1. Go to themeforest and pick out a theme you like for your website

    2. Take screenshots of the theme, these can sometimes be edited directly on the jpg, otherwise just use a photo editor like microsoft paint

    3. Copy and drag around elements of your visual, add/ change text and functionalities, this can be done for a basic layout to include what you want the site to have and make a separate document that describes what the page is about, or add it on the page.

    4. Create a simulated version of your site, wireframes can be done with marvelapp.com for example. You add the photos of your site and click points for going to the next page.

    5. If you are not coding it, freelance sites like fiverr are sites to find someone to code it. When you have a complete design and described in the requirements what you are looking for then you can cancel the order if it doesn't match the description.

Hostinger.com has a business plan for shared hosting

There are plenty of options. Wordpress has a learning LMS plugin which is pretty good. I have just built myself something on this and was surprised how powerful it actually is.

If this is for your music idea I suggest you don't build a website but put together a music lesson and sell it on gumroad or similar. If you make and sell say three different lessons and it's looking good then consider own site but still don't build it. Came back and ask. Unless you want to learn to be a website builder and compete with all the other website builders who have years on you then don't build a website. If you want to be a music lesson producer then create music lessons. Hopefully not coming across too negatively as hoping it helps. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will look at gumroad as it allow me to spend more time creating lessons as opposed to making a website.
