I'm thinking of building A youtube desktop app with additional features.
My top 3 would be

1. Automatically Download Videos of specific channel and playlist
2. A Learning Playlist for educational Videos (a simpler Khan academy)
3. A music player like features. Easy to create edit and update videos on your own playlist
