    well I use Bootstrap every day (version 3 mainly)... i never saw it as a joke but if it makes me laugh all the better

    There are many people who have a vested interest in convincing you that you can't build a business without their help. That is the central message in business school, from corporate managers, venture capitalists and in this case a politician. Don't believe them. This message is true for them because they can't build anything. You can. Just Do It.

    What she's actually refering to though:

      Came here to say this! She's not referring to the term the way we use it. She's expressing that it's unfair to tell people who have nothing that they need to create success with that same nothing. Whereas, when we're bootstrapping in indie hacking, we may have darn close to nothing, but it's not usually a LITERAL nothing. <3
