Nice article Davor. I'm building https://criteria.sh which actually targets API product managers as the primary audience (or product-minded engineers). So I've interviewed a lot of PMs on their current challenges.
Would you say there are any special skills an API PM needs that a PM of a regular web/mobile product might not?
From what I've understood, API PMs need to have a bit more technical experience, obviously focusing on APIs.
Most of the need is in the REST API market I would say, however it doesn't hurt if they have experience with GraphQL and RPC. Knowing use cases in when and how they are best utilized.
Having experience with testing is practically a must. Sometimes you just need to test stuff by yourself to make conclusions.
