🚀 API(dot)Market — the API toolbox I wish existed for indie devs

Hey hackers đź‘‹ My name is Shashank.

A couple of months ago I was stuck in that classic indie-hacker loop:

  1. Idea hits at midnight.
  2. Coffee goes in, code comes out.
  3. Suddenly I need five different AI tricks—face-swaps, background removal, image upscaling, a cheeky GIF generator…

Reality check:

  • Broken endpoints. 502s. Ancient docs. “Contact support?” — tumbleweeds.
My prototype turned into a bug-hunt and the idea cooled off. I hated that.

The “scratch-your-own-itch” spiral
Instead of rage-quitting, I opened a fresh repo:

Rule #1: Every endpoint must actually work.
Rule #2: If my grandma can’t run the curl command, docs aren’t clear enough.
Rule #3: Indie devs hate fancy UX - create a simple to use API playground.
Rule #4: Clarity on what to pay - Show pricing upfront.

Thirty all-nighters, too many ramen cups, and one face-swap fail montage later… https://api.market was born.

What’s live today 🌱
TL;DR

  • 300+ production-ready APIs (100+ generative)
  • No-code playground to poke at endpoints before you copy a line of code
  • 4 M+ calls/month already flowing through the pipes
  • Real-time monitoring → if an endpoint hiccups we see it before you do
  • FaceSwap API alone processed 4 M requests without breaking a sweat
  • Seamless integration with 99.99% Uptime

No gamified dashboards, no shady “Contact Enterprise Sales” buttons, no 18-step SDK installs. Just clean endpoints and copy-paste snippets.

Why should you care? If you’re the kind of maker who:

  • Ships before the coffee gets cold
  • Loves docs that fit on one screen
  • Wants an AI LEGO kit instead of a spaghetti diagram of vendor SDKs
…then API.Market is the toolbox I was missing at 2 a.m.—maybe you are too.

Indie Hacker launch perk

I sneaked a tiny switch behind the billing panel:
->> Use code INDIEAPI for $5 in credits.

Valid for the next 30 days → api.market
Kick the tires, break things, DM me bugs, feature dreams, or memes. I’m here for all of it.
Happy hacking! 🚀

That's a very cool idea. Can you tell me how did you manage to add that many APIs? Seems to be a massive work to do

    1. 1

Yeah it sure was, so we started small. Make the first 20+ APIs in-house and partnerships with a lot of sellers that we manually onboarded. Then over time we improved the onboarding flow and now sellers onboard themselves.
