App Development with Python in 2024
Hey guys, Python has been in the top 5 most popular programming languages for several years. Due to its simplicity and large number of libraries, Python is used to develop AI and IoT solutions, web applications, chatbots, etc. I want to share our approach to developing Python apps here. At my full time job, we Python as our main backend programming language along with Django as our ORM. We process ~100,000 IoT devices with millions of messages a day as well as allow users to control their devices via a web portal and mobile app. Don't let anyone tell you Python is too slow to handle real-time events! We utilize Kafka and Kubernetes to horizontally scale and process each message within milliseconds
