Hi all. I'm new to the Indie Hackers community, and it's exciting to be here.
I've been working on an app to itemize paper receipts, and I want to validate that my idea is clear, and other people will find it useful. Ideally, useful enough to pay for it.
I built a simple landing page:
https://gbroques.github.io/receipt-itemizer/
Can you provide some thoughts, advice, guidance, and feedback on my landing page? Or more generally my idea as well.
Do you have an API to allow integrations and plugin development on other platforms? I think that would be a great revenue channel.
I noticed a grammatical mistake in under the budget section. You used your instead of you're.
It's a neat app, I love the direction and see lots of potential.
I actually do plan on exposing the API that does the OCR for the receipt image.
I built a very basic landing page for this as well:
https://gbroques.github.io/receipt-itemizer-api/
I'm currently working on making the API available through AWS Marketplace and a developer portal with a much more detailed landing page.
Plugin Development is a very interesting idea, but I'm not sure if the app would be popular enough to warrant it haha.
Thanks for noticing the grammar mistake. I will work on correcting that.
I really appreciate you taking the time to look this over, and the encouraging feedback. :)
Building a software product is a lot of work, and it can feel discouraging when you don't know if it'll be a financial success or not. I'm partially building it for myself, which is what keeps me going.
