Over the past 2 years I've been bootstrapping my SAAS startup and we've been focusing on core app problems and challenges—which typically led to redesigns and new features.
We overlooked minor customer requests that could have made their lives easier and increased retention.
For instance, when a customer would ask "So how do I share this with others?" I'd simply give them quick answer on the spot.
Looking back now, it's clear these questions indicated these essential items were needed for a "complete" solution.
It's similar to why SaaS tools often offer free migration—because migration costs can deter potential customers from switching.
While it's tempting to focus on building features, SAAS customers might just want a "complete" end-to-end solution.
Example:
❌ Building fancy scheduling tools (code)
✅ Giving ready-made email templates (no code)
Hope this helps!
