Even as a niche product I launched Airloupe.com on AppSumo back in July. Since then there has been a steady stream of new users excited about taking the platform for a spin. The great thing about this community is they are very used to being early users, not only are their expectations set they realize their part is to provide feedback. Unless you have an existing community I'd go with Appsumo.
Appsumo has benefit of larger customer base.
Doing it without any support is a bad option.
Better approach would be to get in touch with few online communities about your LTD and see if that interests the community.
