Are Apps dead?

From my personal experience, they are out of our league. Top apps belong to Facebook, Google, Zoom, TikTok or any other company that has millions to invest in the development and maintanence process of an application and can you imagine how hard would it be to reach that top 10 in the AppStore or in Google Store?
I think that you need a great team, good capital for product development and a lot of money for marketing. What are the chances of having that? Even with that, competing with those titans is insane.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe not. What do you think? Any personal experience or reference?
