Are no-code apps the future?

What do you think about no-code/low-code apps? Are there any specific tools that you're currently using? I am currently working on https://www.activelambda.com/ to reduce the time and frustration of building internal team admin apps.

Would you use one or rather write your own code?

No code is great! I've been a software engineer for more than a decade and the last year+ I've been building projects with no code. Loving it!

What tools are you using for no-code?

I've been heavy into Webflow, MemberStack, Airtable, and Integromat.

I don't know. All I can say is that no project I've ever built would have been acceptable to me using just off the shelf components. There's always something that bothers me enough to require diving into the code. Perhaps its just my personal quality standards but I cannot imagine to ever finish a complex project without coding. Even if only coding Ansible deployment scripts.

      What solutions have you tried?

I don't have much experience with or a bad opinion of them. I think there is a place for no-code apps for straightforward data-driven apps. I recently found out about https://www.adalo.com/ that I'm thinking about using to build an app I have an idea for.
I think for the foreseeable future there will always be a place for coders and coding, especially those that require animation and more complicated interactivity.

Adalo looks nice. What struggles do you have with it?

I haven't started using it yet. Just watched a few how-to videos, which they have a lot of.
