Are there any good Database/API no-code options?

I'm looking for something that a front-end developer with no back-end experience could hook into to make applications. Something where you can make databases and APIs without dealing with set up or hosting. It would have to hook into Auth0 or Firebase or have it's own auth system.

There's Netlify Identity (https://docs.netlify.com/visitor-access/identity/#enable-identity-in-the-ui) which is a one-click deploy and uses JWT too. For DB, FaunaDB is recommended by Netlify with deeper integrations.

But overall, the solution allows you to basically not have to worry about infra at all. It's not no-code but rather minimal code. Saved me a lot of time having to deal with AWS' insane workflows

FaunaDB looks pretty close. Especially after watching their quick-start video.

    I would recommend https://directus.io/

It's a headless CMS that provides authentication, user management, a rest API and a graphql API. It sounds like exactly what you're looking for. Comes with JWT support built in as well as a JS SDK.

    Checkout Commun: https://github.com/commundev/commun
It's open source and free, you can use it to create powerful apps without coding

Check out https://busywork.co/, I think it’s exactly what you’re looking for.

On the database side, I've been a fan of Hasura.io. It automatically generates as GraphQL API based on your database schema (that you define on your dashboard, not in code). Using it right now for https://codernotes.io and loving it. Only downside is that it has limited telemetry on the backend side, but I think that most no-code solutions suffer from that issue.

Hi. Tabbli is created as a no-code database with easy filtration and text search features. Ideal backend for your frontend. You can use Webflow as a frontend and design part. Or even Tabbli has a low-code site builder where you can use publish data organically even without API. Using an HTML theme and even some frameworks like vue.js or similar. I'll be happy to demonstrate it for you.

This looks really interesting. Do they allow external-user-created records?

Surely. You can define the behavior of your visitors. You can allow them to post a web-forms or you can restrict it by login procedure before.
Or you can use the secure link for registered users to provide them posting form without authorizing.

Hey Jim - have you checked out Linx

Jim, try 8base if you get a chance. We have integrated Auth0, the world's most powerful GraphQL API, serverless functions and a simple to use but super powerful relational data schema builder. Your instance is auto-provisioned on AWS in seconds.

+1 for firebase. Especially for a JS dev.
    -1 for AuthO for auth

Seeing a lot of great options below. Based on my experience, Contentful is definitely one of the most feature rich options out there. If you're looking to get something up and going really quickly, NetlifyCMS is super simple (and I see @tzeying already pointed out their identity service).

    Hi Jim,
I'm working on exactly this and I'm looking for users who can help me define the specific requirements they need for their projects. Please get in contact and I'll happily work out what you need. Down side, is you will have to wait as I put it together, upside is you get what you need!

Hello, @amlwwalker. I'm also working on something similar. I'd like to exchange thoughts on this with you. DM me

Kinvey by progress is a good one! I tried to manage almost every data for a native mobile application. I only have a little exp. in front-end and zero exp. in back-end :)
