Hey IH,
I'm having a hard time finding a good in-depth guide on how to run a Google Ad Campaign for a SaaS. I'm wanting to start with my SaaS, Curate.
There is enough content out there on ad copywriting but when it comes to the intricacies of a Google Ad Campaign I can't find a definitive source. Maybe I'm not searching for the right things.
Julian Shapiro has this guide which is the best I have found but only seems to scratch the surface.
Does anyone know of a resource for an in-depth guide on practical and modern strategies for starting campaigns with Google Ads?
I'd suggest the following instead of a guide - I'd do a request for a proposal with 3-5 media buying/marketing vendors.
Come to the meetings with your questions and pick their brains.
I'd aim to find one that you can hire for 3-5 months, to help you get your ads up and running. At that point, you can decide whether to manage it yourself or scale up their service.
I'm a developer who Googles everything, however, nothing compares to speaking with an expert.
I do like this approach but I worry that they won't "share the secrets" and help me learn the "why" behind everything. Since once I do, they could lose my business. To me learning the ad strategies is just as important as having ad campaigns something that is actually working for my SaaS.
I'd worry first about doing what you can to get a paid acquisition strategy that performs.
The Julian guide is a fantastic place to start. To progress from that, consider taking the Google Ads mini course from Demand Curve. Or even better do the full program. It is insanely valuable. I took the full course and produced beautiful growth for doopoll.
That's great to hear. I found some of your writing on the subject. Even the mini-course price is around my first ad campaign budget but after an uptick in MRR I should be able to check it out. I appreciate the tip.
