🌎 Are there indie hackers building solutions to the climate crisis and/or social problems?

Hi all.

I don't see many indie hackers building solutions for social and/or climate problems. I don't know the reasons, but I'm keen to advocate and bring indie hackers together to create more products that save the world.

As I'm writing a newsletter about climate tech, tech for good and social enterprises, would be nice to write about indie hackers building those products.

Are there indie hackers building those solutions?

Add me to this! I'm not now but I'd like to. One of the things I'm interested in is community energy - local groups generating their own energy e.g. through locally owned solar or wind farms. I'm curious how software and tech can support these groups.

    hello!
i can tell you about a tool me and my friend made for the local city we live in.
we developed a tool that is able to process maps and arial photos of the city and "score" different sidewalks(for people) according to different categories and weight program we chose.

now you asking so how does it connect with climate problems,
let me tell you - this tool is used to check which sidewalks are scored low in the city and how they can improve it (like adding shade for example)
the whole purpose of this is to encourage people to walk by foot and not use their car, as our city is already too busy with roads and cars making 5km drive like 50 min :D
