Hi,
I am convinced and as I read a lot of you also have the opinion, that you need to find a problem and then build a solution.
But now im in a situation where two colleagues and I have spare time to develop a solution but I dont know ways to generate ideas out of nothing and also I dont want to waste my time because I have to build something now.
So my question is, what are ways that you use when you want to start something and find/create projectideas.
Thank you!
I talked about this a little bit in my post about how to brainstorm business ideas. There are also some other good resources linked on the start here page.
The short answer is you shouldn't be trying to generate ideas out of nothing. Rather, I recommend looking for problems in the real world. There are plenty. Literally every time someone expends time, effort, money, reputation, etc., they're doing it to solve some problem. You're posting on this forum to solve a problem. I'm responding to solve a problem. Look at people's behaviors, then work backwards to identify the problems they're solving.
Unfortunately, 99% of problems aren't worth starting a business to solve, usually because people don't care about those problems enough to pay for a solution, or any number of other reasons. So once you've found a problem that piques your interest, you need to assess it. If the problem isn't a good one, drop it and find another. I've got some tips for this in my post.
Generally, there aren't all that many problems people will pay money to have solved, so most successful businesses are solving boring, obvious problems. But of course there are infinite creative solutions you can come up with to solve any particular problem.
thanks for your input!
i just start building shit. i mean, literally.
i also start a blog, usually, to capture my thoughts on the project as i go.
that's a good start i think.
