I'm doing some research on this.

I like to work at night very much. I think I have more energy to work at night. In the past few years. I have done a lot of imporant things at night.

I like to work both in the morning and night, kinda depends on the day.

Feel more energetic in the morning and creative at night

For me, mornings are for sports and other outdoor activities, and night is the most productive and creative hours. I just can't sit in front of a computer while it's amazing sunny day outside.

last three month I started to wake up at 9, start work at 10 and finish at 18

I didnt understand how it happened, but its really good for me

I absolutely am a morning person. I like the silence out there in the morning.

I don't like to work at night. Having two kids, I need to get as much sleep as possible. But that was also the case before my kids were born. Working late at night is terrible for my sleep. My brain is still working.

    My morning routine is:

    1. Wake up at 5:30 and do some workout or Yoga
    2. Wake up my kids
    3. Prepare breakfast
    4. Eat breakfast
    5. Make a good cup of coffee
    6. Sit down at my desk and start working

I usually feel like using my brain in the morning between 8 to 12. I'll read and handle any communication I need to do. Then at night, once I feel like my brain is fried, I like to exercise and go to the gym. That way I can relieve most of the day's tension.

I feel more focused at night since it is quieter

I used to be more of a night owl but nowadays I'm finding it harder to focus on things in the night. Feel sleepy. I tend to wake up about an hour or two before work and get some productive work in towards a side gig before starting the work day.

I have worked both at night and in the morning.
    At night:

    • Everything around you gets quieter and quieter, and you start to creep into a flow zone
    • You have a large amount of buffer time to continue to work throughout the night if you get really focused on a problem
    • I've made big technical blunders at night that have wasted a lot of days
    • It can be very easy to develop insomnia, which will cause you to have a less productive next day

    In the morning:

    • You are refreshed after being able to sleep throughout the night
    • There is sort of a deadline where everyone starts to get up and you need to start work (if you have a full time job)

I think it's something that is an individual preference that changes with what stage in life you are in. I know that there are a lot of CEOs/motivational speakers that are on the morning train, but for every one of those, I can point to a startup founder who was a night owl when they built out their initial product. I think the biggest difference might be if you have a family, or you need to juggle different priorities.

Night owl. The late hours of the day are somehow the most productive for me.

      Thanks for the answer.

      I was thinking...
if you follow a night routine.

      Like:
You start working around the same time.
If you stop working around the same time.
      If there are breaks...

Or is it something more freestyle?

      1. 1

It's all very freestyle. What I struggle most with is that night is also where social engagements happen. So it's either one or the other.

  11. 2

to be honest it really depends, but as of right now im definitely a night owl (working between the times of 9pm - 2am). However a few years ago I was starting my day at 5am and going to bed at 10. I think it is really dependent on environment.

    1. 1

      When you follow a routine,
there is some rigidity in the schedules
      to start and stop working,
      or is it more freestyle?

Thank you for the answer. : )

      1. 1

for me at least there was a lot of discipline, of course there were times where I had to compromise, but for the most part it was planned time to work. I feel as though the environment that you put you in also helps you stick to that plan

Night owl all the way man.
I wake up as late as possible.

  13. 1

    Yes, totally!

I am a morning person and I need a strict routine

    My routine is

    Wake up 6am / 6:30am
    Put some pet food
Make a huge cup of coffee
    and that's it! :)

    • The exercises I do between Pomodoro

Just started waking up at 6:30 to work on my side projects before day job since 3 weeks ago after being a night owl my whole life (I'm 30). It's fucking amazing. Waking up at that hour feels so much better and I'm more alert and present throughout the day.

  15. 1

I’m an extreme morning person. I am very productive in the morning from 5.30 am to 9.30 am. The rest of the day equals to this 4 hours for me.

  16. 1

One good thing is to get enough sleep. I wake up around 8am, do some activity (gym, reading,.. ) before going to work at 10:30

I was a night owl, programming in the night and sleeping in the day.
6 months ago I started to go to the gym, eat clean, and now I wake at 6 AM, go to the gym and start working at 10 AM, I'm feeling better and more focused.
