Accidental founder: You never planned to be a founder but you were trying to solve something & that turned out to be profitable
Intentional founder: You explicitly wanted to be a founder & built profitable products
A bit of both I would say. Initially, I developed Planzer to just be a tool for my own needs. But I later found out that other freelancers could easily use it as well. So I just released it to the public. But on the other hand, for a long time I've wanted to release a product to the public.
So yea, all in all I would say a little of both 🙌
Just looked at Planzer. Looks cool and awesome to see integrations from multiple calendars and Notion too.
How is the growth? Have you built integrations because someone asked?

The growth is decent 3-5 sign ups a day, but no paying users yet. I'm slowly starting to get feedback, and the thing I see repeatedly is missing integrations. It's what makes Planzer valuable.

I'm looking at becoming an intentional founder. Currently I am gaining experience and learning more about what it takes by engaging and working with more startup companies.
This is an ever going discussion whether to gain more knowledge by working for a startup or just directly build your own product instead of working for someone.

Fun fact: Circle.so founder once worked for Gumroad and learnt a lot of things while working for Gumroad. Now Circle.so received funding and is growing exponentially. The founder clearly called up that the experience of working in a startup helped him build his own product.
Intentional. For my first software business, I wanted out of the corporate rat race and to own my time. Mission accomplished. 🙌
Second one is different. Already own my time, but want a way to express my creativity and have fun doing it. Software is my canvas. 🎨

I'm not an intentional founder. At the beginning I needed this product for my work, so I tried to make one myself. But later I found that this product can also be needed for people from other companies.

Also, now the product is more meant for B2B (as you mentioned companies)
I am an intentional founder. For the past few years I've tried to make a business out of my side hustles and it's only recently that I've started to see some success.
