Are you building a bootstrapped SaaS or Micro-SaaS?

Generally speaking, if you're building a SaaS start-up you're financing your growth in either 4 ways.

  1. Funded SaaS: companies that finance their business w/ equity a.k.a VC.

  2. Bootstrapped “scaling” SaaS: SaaS companies that manage to pass the $10M ARR threshold w/o VC. (Think Mailchimp or Atlassian super rare.)

  3. Bootstrapped SaaS: bootstrapped companies that manage to reach the $300k — $10M ARR range w/o VC.

  4. Bootstrapped Micro SaaS: “1 to 3” people companies which operate in the $1k — $300k ARR range, w/o VC.

Now that FundStory is live, I encounter awesome bootstrapped SaaS and micro SaaS founders on a daily basis. Helping them sort through all the ways they can finance their growth w/o VC.

Here are some ways to grow w/o VC:

💰Term Notes
🎖Grants
🤝Revenue Share
🏦Credit Line
💳Business Credit
