As a developer, are you active on Twitter or LinkedIn?
Which platform is better for connecting with other like-minded software developers? I have been using both of them for the last few years but only irregularly.
Twitter Case
I find Twitter to be a better source of news, programming tips, and discussions.
LinkedIn Case
I never really understood the advantage of LinkedIn for anything else than networking, so I tried to be very active for the last month and the result? The search function is fantastic because you can find and connect with developers by various categories (skills, companies, countries, etc.)
But I find all the content and posts being produced by Sales + Marketing + Legal and ofc. HR department—very little useful daily software content.
On the other hand, a good LinkedIn profile is a big plus when searching/applying for a position.
What platform do you prefer?

Hey Geoff, What community and why separating it?
I mostly bum around the JavaScript community. A lot of it is just reading/following threads. I've started to be more active lately and retweet and post responses. It was out of my comfort zone for a long time.
I don't purposely separate it. It's mostly just due to the nature of the platforms. I've always used LinkedIn for my career/professional purposes. So when I post on there, I try to keep it relevant.
There is less of a conversation on LinkedIn than Twitter. Twitter is definitely a lot more real time. LinkedIn is great for connecting with people one on one through messaging.
