If you broke it out to me 1 2 3 what I needed to do and made it specific to my market and helped me see initial results then yes for sure. Just advice would be no because I can reach out to people in my network.

I am happy to pay for the monthly growth hack idea if

    • Inline with my goal of the year
    • Ideas are backed with real time data
    1. 1

What's your goal for the year?

Improve MRR of my SaaS. I have identified 3 ways to do it.

        • Increase new booking
        • Win back old customer
        • Reduce Churn

Your ideas must be inline to above and backed with relevant data

    Yes and no.
No because if it's only advices, there are TONs of advice for free (and almost everyweek, an indiehacker here launch great website to list best growthhack..in addition to forum,fb groups..)
And an other no because developer people are usually curious, so they will find some advice by themselves, and growth hacking strategy are almost related to some tech skills, so they already have them.
Yes if you consider you are working as an agency, but client will need more than advice. Usually , clients take agency because they don't want to deal with that (lack of time, marketing skill....), so advice won't be enought.

But the cake is so big that you can find clients to sell advice and even ebook, good luck

      Nice insights!

Presenting as an agency / at least doing the work as an agency is a good point.

Why only for developers? Cant your advice help other growth hackers?
The key is all growth hack depends on execution and luck to some level. So many growth hack content in the world. Hardly any work well.

    1. 1

Why developers? To niche down. To make it obvious for developers to know who to choose.

  5. 1

Yes but only on a performance-based commission. (Ditto for sales / affiliate / direct response marketing roles)

    1. 1

      Why only performance based?

      1. 1

        in order to align incentives

Should've also emphasized that in the title. But yes, advice is easily given but often not so easily followed up on.

You're absolutely right about the advice part. My angle would definitely include doing the actual work.

      1. 1

Need a price and examples to give honest feedback.

Can you give an example of the work you’d do and a rough price?

        1. 1

Are you in-market for some help? Tell me your biggest challenge with makesomething. I’ll do some work for you and you can decide if and what you’d pay for that.

      Nice insight Alex!

That's a pretty good idea. It does leave the risk more at the marketer as opposed to the engineer. But the gains for the marketer might be bigger in the long run. 🏃

Would an engineer be interested in a contract where you'd share revenue for a longer period?

How would you incentivize a marketer to help an engineer who doesn't have (a lot of) revenue yet?

@YannickVeys Do growth hack work with smaller companies?

They usually have very leaky buckets and every visitor that comes will most likely not sign up or become a paid customer.

Or you could target startups who got funding and need growth no matter what. But they usually try to hire for that.

The ideal company would be one with good revenue but can't afford to hire a full time growth employee yet.

Doesn’t it work both ways? The dev can also approach the marketer?

Agreed, so you have to weigh out the risk to reward, not all companies will be a fit for revenue share agreements.
