As A Professional Musician, I'm Tired Of Music.

Do you guys remember how detailed the world is back then? Everything is an art including furnitures and sculptures..

Now it's like everything's optimized for industrial purposes.
.. they don't see the point in playing anymore in most contexts,.. Even music…. and watching other bands doesn't hit the way it used to. Everything's turned into a DULL PERFORMANCE now, whether it's on stage or for a video, and it feels like nobody cares about simply playing real anymore fr.

What stuck with them most was the shift from when they started, back when playing was just about fun and connection regardless of skill, to now, an endless chase for whatever's trending. Gospel chops, then polyrhythms, now double bass, experimental mix genres.. happening across literally every instrument and style. Their question was when did playing perfectly locked to a metronome become THE whole definition of musical excellence.

They admitted some of it's probably depression talking, but also said they've genuinely experienced very few moments of real musical connection lately, mostly just competition, ego, and playing bc bills need paying.
"Looks like the people who made this industry intentionally rationalize hard work ART as "non usable" and focused more on "innovation and CONVINIENCE, built in simplicity."

A full time musician jumped in saying "do what you love and you'll never work a day" is complete nonsense, turning a hobby into income makes it genuinely hard to keep it as a hobby too. Their food analogy actually went kinda hard, cooking a nice meal for friends with wine playing is one thing, running 80 dinners a night with every order at a different stage is a WHOLE different mindset, and the home cook makes a better meal precisely bc they're not doing it for work.

Do you think that this is ever normal that our environment even music is slowly turning grey from well detailed colors?
